At the Civilizational Threshold: Diagnosis, Vision, and Pathways for Redefinition
Creators
Description
This document presents a three-part exploration of humanity's position at a civilizational threshold, examining the challenges, visions, and strategies for redefining civilization in the face of a global polycrisis.
Part 1 provides a philosophical and empirical diagnosis of the current crisis, identifying interlinked social, ecological, economic, and spiritual disruptions, and analyzing the erosion of truth, authority, and meaning in a post-truth era.
Part 2 proposes an integrated vision for transformation across key domains — religion and spirituality, governance and authority, economics, culture and society, and human development — emphasizing pluralism, resilience, and sustainability as guiding principles.
Part 3 outlines pathways and strategies for implementation and transition, combining historical lessons, systems-change theory, pilot projects, institutional reform, and narrative transformation to overcome resistance and achieve lasting change.
The work aims to inspire thoughtful reflection, interdisciplinary dialogue, and practical experimentation toward a more just, resilient, and meaningful civilization.
