RI-SCALE_D5.1 – Data Exploitation Platform Requirements and Design Considerations

This deliverable presents the Requirement Consolidation Process for the Data Exploitation Platform (DEP) developed within the RI-SCALE project. In order to guide platform development and ensure alignment between technical implementation and scientific use case expectations, a structured process for collecting, organising, reviewing, and formalising system specifications was established. This consolidation process represents one of the main outcomes of the deliverable, providing a common framework for requirement elicitation across both technical work packages (WP2–WP4) and use case contributors (WP5). In addition to the process definition, the deliverable presents the initial set of requirements elicited through this methodology. A total of 88 functional and non-functional requirements were collected, reviewed, and structured with associated metadata to enable traceability and validation planning. Complementing this effort, a set of preliminary high-level design considerations is also provided, outlining the preliminary architecture, user roles, deployment options, and functional domains of the DEP. The process successfully engaged all relevant contributors, producing a balanced distribution of inputs across platform components and work packages. While further alignment and refinements may occur in subsequent phases, the next iteration will primarily focus on validation planning, including the definition of test cases and acceptance criteria based on the consolidated requirements.
