The final selection included 52 key studies covering topics such as AI-driven defect detection, machine learning applications, digital twins for quality control, and advanced non-destructive testing techniques. These studies were analyzed to extract crucial insights on existing technologies, their limitations, and potential for integration into zero-defect manufacturing systems.
This state-of-the-art analysis serves as a foundation for further research and decision-making within the project. It helps define best practices for implementing non-destructive inspection in smart manufacturing, identifies technological gaps, and supports the selection of innovative methodologies. The insights gained from this review contribute to shaping future project activities, ensuring that the latest advancements in AI, digital twins, and non-destructive evaluation are effectively leveraged to achieve zero defects and zero waste in industrial production.
