Description

Inherited cardiac conditions (ICCs), also called inherited heart conditions, are genetically inherited conditions in families. The most common ICCs are cardiomyopathies and channelopathies. This evidence map, commissioned by the NSC, will focus on the five most common ICCs: hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy, arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy, long QT syndrome, and Brugada syndrome. The aim is to provide an overview of the volume and type of evidence available regarding genetic penetrance, the accuracy of genetic tests, the effectiveness of genetic cascade screening, and any guidelines relating to genetic cascade screening.
