Dome optical turbulence measurements with Domecam at Caucasian Mountain Observatory 2022-2024

Description

This dataset contains partially preprocessed scintillation measurements obtained at the entrance pupil of the 2.5 m telescope at the Caucasian Mountain Observatory.

Contents:

  • Autocovariance functions (with time delays of 0 ms, 10 ms, 20 ms, 40 ms, and 80 ms) are provided in fits.zip. Measurements include:

    • Real entrance pupil observations

    • Virtual pupil observations (conjugated to an altitude of -2 km)

  • Metadata: metainfo.csv contains details on the observed objects and their spectral energy distributions for each measurement series.

  • Spectral data: spectra.zip includes spectral response curves for all optical elements and potential source objects

  • Processing results: results.csv includes derived dome optical turbulence power accompanied with additional environmental data:
    • Series id
    • Date and time of measurement, UT
    • Elevation of the telescope, deg
    • Azimuth of the telescope (S->W), deg
    • Dome OT power, m^1/3
    • Dome OT time constant, s
    • Dome OT decorrelation deviation from exponential law
    • Ambient temperature (as measured by meteomast), C
    • Ambient wind speed, m/s
    • Ambient wind direction (N->E), deg
    • Temperature difference between M1 mirror and air inside the dome. C
    • OT power as measured by MASS-DIMM (0 km layer), m^1/3
    • OT power as measured by MASS-DIMM (0.5 km layer), m^1/3
    • OT power as measured by MASS-DIMM (1 km layer), m^1/3
    • OT power as measured by MASS-DIMM (2 km layer), m^1/3
    • OT power as measured by MASS-DIMM (4 km layer), m^1/3
    • OT power as measured by MASS-DIMM (8 km layer), m^1/3
    • OT power as measured by MASS-DIMM (16 km layer), m^1/3
    • Seeing as measured by SPP, arcsec

Note1: MASS-DIMM OT power is for zenith, wavelength 0.5 mkm,

Note2: SPP seeing is for line of sight, wavelength 0.55 mkm.
