Description
The AUS-oMicS Early-Mid Career Researchers (EMCR) organising committee and bioinformaticians from the Australian Proteomics Analysis Facility (APAF) presented ‘Data to Discovery: A Multi-Omics Masterclass’ on Saturday, May 17, as a short-course ahead of AUS-oMicS 2025.
The masterclass introduced participants to multi-omic data handling using a custom-designed educational toolkit, the MultiScholaR package, which debuted at this workshop and provided hands-on training in integrating proteomics, metabolomics and transcriptomics. It was designed for advanced beginner and EMCRs aspiring to a higher knowledge of coding (some prior R knowledge), but we welcomed everyone to participate. This event equipped participants with the tools to independently apply multi-omic workflows in their research.
The AUS-oMicS EMCR organising committee were representatives from the Australasian Proteomics Society (APS), the Australian and New Zealand Metabolomics Society (ANZMetSoc), the Australian Glycoscience Society (AGS) and the Australian and New Zealand Society for Mass Spectrometry (ANZSMS).
This record contains the presentation slides from invited speakers and educational materials from the 'Data to Discovery: A Multi-Omics Masterclass' held on May 17, 2025. These resources are shared to allow participants to revisit the content and to make the educational toolkit accessible to a wider audience
The workshop featured version 0.2 of the software package, MultiScholaR, which is in currently in active development ahead of publication. The version presented in these materials is a pre-release version intended for educational and feedback purposes.
