Description

This Interim Report provides a comprehensive overview of the activities carried out during the first six months (M1–M6) of the EVOLVE2CARE project. The project is structured into three main phases: (1) stakeholder and needs analysis, (2) development of the AccelUp marketplace and experimentation framework, and (3) implementation of Living Lab-based experimentation services for HealthTech innovation in transitional care.

During this initial reporting period, the primary focus was on Phase 1, implemented through Work Package 1 (WP1). Key achievements include the development of a protocol for identifying barriers and enablers to innovation in transitional care, followed by extensive stakeholder engagement through surveys and interviews involving 75 participants from 33 countries. Insights were synthesized into two deliverables: D1.1, which highlights innovation barriers and drivers, and D1.2, which presents a validated KPI framework. This framework addresses both collaboration dynamics between Living Labs and innovators, and the implementation potential of HealthTech solutions. Two repositories were developed to guide evaluation and impact assessment efforts.

Preparatory actions for Phase 2 were also initiated under Work Package 2 (WP2). These included the drafting of Open Call documentation, and the design of two online training programs targeting Living Lab operators and innovators/researchers. Training topics will cover stakeholder engagement, regulatory frameworks, co-creation, and innovation strategies, with sessions scheduled between May and November 2025.

Cross-cutting activities were conducted under WP4 (Communication, Dissemination and Outreach) and WP5 (Project Coordination and Management). WP4 successfully developed the project’s visual identity, website, templates, and targeted communication campaigns. WP5 focused on ensuring effective governance and coordination, including the establishment of the External Advisory Board and the Ethics Advisory Board. Three key deliverables (D5.1, D5.2, and D5.3) were submitted, addressing internal processes, interim project reporting, and innovation/IPR management respectively. Overall, the EVOLVE2CARE project has laid a solid foundation for its future phases by achieving key milestones in stakeholder engagement, methodological development, and operational planning.
