Description
This ACCTING report consolidates the impact evaluation findings from a wide range of social innovation activities examined through ACCTING’s eight Research Lines (RLs) and ten Pilot Actions (PAs), organised around key thematic areas connected to the European Green Deal. The aim was to test the ACCTING theoretical framework, translated into a broad impact evaluation approach, and to identify which areas of impact are more readily achievable by social innovation initiatives, and which require further development and a better understanding of the support needed.
The report is structured into thematic sections, each focusing on a different area: disaster risk management, biodiversity and land use, energy and solidarity communities, environmental sustainability in micro-enterprises, sustainable food, sustainable mobility, and volunteering. Each section includes a background overview, descriptions of the selected cases, an analysis of recorded impacts, a discussion of key challenges, and a summary of lessons learned. The final section presents an analysis crossing the thematic areas and identifying common trends, enabling factors, and barriers to inclusive environmental change. The evaluation is guided by a comprehensive framework covering nine impact areas, organised in three main categories (direct impacts, indirect impacts/precursors of change, cross-cutting impacts).
