Description

Presentation on the Tropical Cyclone Ocean-coupled Potential Intensity Model (TOPIM) delivered by Dr. Samantha Hallam (NUIM) at the EGU General Assembly 2025.

The TOPIM model highlights, in the Caribbean, that using ocean temperature over the top 100m layer improves hurricane intensity prediction than by using SST alone, which is important for ocean indicator development and hurricane intensity prediction.
