Description

The FAIR-IMPACT Support Programme for Repositories and Service Providers supported its participants across two rounds of support in 2024 to assess their current FAIR-enabling capabilities and develop action plans to improve them. This Zenodo record contains a tool that was presented to the participants during the support programme to encourage them to create their engagement strategy with their key stakeholders, in order to achieve the specific actions that they planned to achieve during the programme.

The tool was originally developed for the first round of support in early 2024. It was then revised later in 2024, and this version was presented during the fourth online workshop of the second round of the support programme. 

To complement the introduction of this tool, the workshop also included a presentation by Dr Lisa Griffith, Director, Digital Repository of Ireland. This presentation aimed to give the participants more information about creating engagement strategies and engaging with stakeholders.

We have also included a document that outlines the FAIR Implementation Framework and how the tools used with this support programme for Repositories and Service Providers, including this Engagement Stragegy tool fit within it.

The tool was originally created by Loek Brinkman for the first round in this support programme. It was subsequently edited by Deborah Thorpe and Laurence Horton for the second round of the support programme.

This version of the tool was created in preparation for Workshop 4 of the support programme, held on 21.11.2024. It was separated from the accompanying FAIR Implementation Action Plan tool (originally the first tab of the spreadsheet) in February 2025 in preparation for upload to Zenodo.

This is a tool entitled ‘FAIR Implementation Action Plan - Engagement Strategy’ for developing an engagement strategy for your repository or data service provider. It was designed to be used in conjunction with the actions and objectives identified in the FAIR Implementation Action Plan.
