D3.1 Pilot site testing objectives (NE)

Description

Deliverable D3.1 “Pilot site testing objectives (NE)” presents the testing objectives for the North-Eastern pilot group of the GLocalFlex project, which includes pilot sites in the Czech Republic, Finland, and Germany. Each pilot site serves as a demonstrator for local flexibility market integration and associated business models, leveraging the GLocalFlex market platform concept.

The Czech pilot focuses on smart demand response in a diverse building portfolio using energy management systems and dynamic tariff schemes. The Finnish pilot explores industrial-scale flexibility and sector coupling within a local MicroGrid, including battery storage and renewable integration into district heating. The German pilot implements a multi-stage setup combining lab testing and field demonstrations, targeting flexibility trading use cases with grid-awareness and market interaction.

Together, these pilots demonstrate novel tools, trading mechanisms, and system integrations essential for effective demand-side flexibility and market participation.
