Description
This dataset contains the experimental data results of the GEOLAB Transnational Access project CYLO-RT (Cyclic loading of railway trackbeds with and without geogrid stabilisation) tests conducted at the Institute of Geotechnics of the Technical University of Darmstadt in Germany from Nov. 2024 to Feb. 2025.
The project was led by SNCF Réseau (French railway company), in partnership with the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble (France), Université Gustave Eiffel (France) and NAUE (German company), with hosting and research involvement of the Technical University of Darmstadt (Germany).
Two tests were performed in an indoor 5.4m × 5.0m pit, by applying 500,000 cycles of vertical load on a geotechnical structure replicating a trackbed, without (test 1) and with (test 2) a geogrid placed at the interface between a weak subsoil and compacted gravel layer.
This dataset contains:
- the description of the experimental set-up, test programme and instrumentation, with detailed and comprehensive plans and photographs, as well as the description of additional tests performed to characterise the geotechnical structure,
- the test result files, as given by the sensors that equipped the set-up. The files contain the raw data as recorded by the instruments. The results of the characterisation tests are also given.
