Description

On 3 April 2025, H2OforAll and SafeCREW conducted their fifth common webinar. More than 60 participants listened to the four presentations on “Preparing drinking water supply systems for climate change – case study insights” and engaged in the discussion.

Aristotelis Magklis presented insights on strategic sensor placement for the identification of disinfection by-products in drinking water as tested in H2OforAll’s case study in Coimbra, Portugal. Andreu Fargas from Consorci d’Aigües de Tarragona, the Catalan case study partner in SafeCREW, continued by presenting how they manage drinking water treatment to avoid DBP formation. The third presentation was given by Serhii Martynov, National University of Water and Environmental Engineering, which focused on water quality monitoring in Ukraine, another SafeCREW case study.

The final talk by invited speaker Valerie McCarthy, Dublin City University, gave an overview of trihalomethane risk in Irish drinking water from peatland dominated catchments. Valerie talked about one of the case studies of SafeCREW’s sister project intoDBP, another of our ZeroPollution4Water Cluster sister projects.
