Towards a Philosophy of Open Scientific Practices: Comparing Research Environments

This collection contains the official programme and presentation slides for the international workshop "Towards a Philosophy of Open Scientific Practices: Comparing Research Environments" which took place on 27-30 April 2025 in Landshut (Bavaria), at the Achat Hotel Kaiserhof. The workshop was organised by Sabina Leonelli and Desantila Hysa, in collaboration with the PHIL_OS team, to showcase and discuss the PHIL_OS project "A Philosophy of Open Science for Diverse Research Environments" (all info here: www.opensciencestudies.eu ). 

The workshop brought together team members, close collaborators and advisors to discuss the preliminary results of the extensive empirical researc carried out within the project, and trace paths for the final two years of the project (including data analysis, outputs and formats, and policy engagement). In-person participants included: Cameron Neylon, Carole Goble, Sally Wyatt, Alexandre Hocquet, Carbel El-Hani, Elizabeth Arnaud, Johannes-Geert Hagmann, Luis Lopez, Stephan Guttinger Laura Gorrieri, Paul Trauttmansdorff, Elis Jones, Yoshinari Yoshiba, Evan Josselin, Maria Zanzotto, and the core PHIL_OS team (Sabina Leonelli, Desantila Hysa, Rachel Ankeny, Rose Trappes, Paola Castano, Richard Williams, Rena Alcalay, Joyce Koranteng-Acquah, Fotis Tsiroukis, Emma Cavazzoni, Nathanael Sheehan). Online participants included representatives from NASA Open Science, HALY-ID project in Italy, CIDACS in Salvador, ELGO_DEMETRA in Greece and CSIR in Ghana (our main scientific collaborators).
