Policy Brief: Public support for Beyond-GDP indicators and policy frameworks in the European Union
Description
This brief presents the findings of a cross-country survey data collected by MERGE in October-November 2024. The online survey was administered to nationally representative samples of six European Union countries: Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Poland and Spain. A total of 6,000 participants gave their opinion on the adoption and use of Beyond GDP indicators in policy making. Through participant’s responses to our questions, we learnt about the topics and dimensions that they feel these indicators should focus on; as well as their views for a sustainable Europe by 2050.
The questionnaire included a survey experiment which tested the effectiveness of different communication strategies on public support for Beyond GDP indicators.
