A psychological analysis of stuttering.
Creators
Description
Analyzes the stutter phenomena. First an orientation test was given to stutterers and to normal individuals to establish norms for visualization in the two groups. 19 stutterers were given a series of 24 tests and introspective tests upon the content of consciousness. Psychological analysis showed that stuttering was an absent or weak visualization at the time of speech. This faulty visualization has been called Visual Center Asthenia. Lack or weakness in visualization accounted for all the numerous phenomena of stuttering in severe, medium, or mild cases. A treatment has been indicated.
