TABLE 1. Selected diagnostic characters for species in the genus Rhabdophis. Grey shading indicates non-overlapping characters when compared to Rhabdophis hmongorum sp. nov. Abbreviations defined in the materials and methods section. Ranges in number of dorsal scale rows and post ocular scales are given in parentheses. The total number of maxillary teeth is presented first followed by, where available, the number of teeth prior to the enlarged rear teeth plus the number of enlarged rear teeth presented in parentheses.
