During the CONASENSE 2024 Workshop, Christian Rothenberg (UNICAMP) presented "Perspectives on 6G in Brazil: A SMARTNESS View." The presentation explored Brazil's transition from 5G to 6G, highlighting the key 6G tenets such as softwarization, disaggregation, and AI/ML. Brazil's competencies in these areas support its potential for 6G standardization. The ongoing initiatives are focused on two main investment paths: 5G-centric efforts to optimize 5G’s capabilities and expand its reach, and 6G-centric R&D, which is focused on long-term enabling technologies.
