Description

This catalog is a summary of Solar Energetic Particle (SEP) events at E>30 MeV that have been observed from 1956 to 2023 from different spacecraft. The primary publications that were used in this compilation include:

(a) M.A. Shea, D.F. Smart, A Summary of Major Solar Proton Events. Sol. Phys. 127(2), 297–320 (1990), doi:10.1007/BF00152170
(b) S. Rotti, B. Aydin, M. Georgoulis, P. Martens, GSEP Dataset (Harvard Dataverse, 2022).doi:10.7910/DVN/DZYLHK
(c) A. Papaioannou, K. Herbst, T. Ramm, E.W. Cliver, D. Lario, A.M. Veronig, Revisiting empirical solar energetic particle scaling relations. I. Solar flares. A&A 671, 66 (2023). doi:10.1051/0004-6361/202243407

The catalog provides the Date of the event (YYYY, MM, DD) and the resulting omni-directional fluence in (cm^{-2}). No effort to cross calibrate between different catalogues have been made.

This catalog is used in the following publications:
