This plenary session is aiming to engage into a dialogue on so called ocean narratives which are built on ocean indicators. Ocean narratives can reflect diverse viewpoints on the ocean, such as the relationship between humans and the ocean; or they can guide multidisciplinary collaborations (e.g., MHWs in ObsSea4Clim); or bridging global and regional perspectives by highlighting local ocean change in the context of global challenges like climate change, biodiversity loss, and sustainable development.
• Talk: 10 minutes: Ocean narratives: the role of ocean indicators (Karina von Schuckmann)
• Talk: 10 minutes: Implementing Ocean narratives: the challenge of the regionalization of ocean indicators. (Samantha Hallam)
• Ronan: MHWs (10 minutes): Marine heatwaves: a demonstrator for cross-cutting ocean narratives (Ronan McAdam)
• Q&A 15 Minutes with the audience
