These illnesses result from consuming contaminated food or water containing bacteria, viruses, parasites, or chemical substances. Nurses, as frontline healthcare professionals, play a crucial role in food safety education, early detection of foodborne illnesses, and implementing preventive strategies. This review explores the prevalence, risk factors, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, management, and prevention of foodborne diseases from a nursing perspective. It also highlights the significance of public awareness, patient education, and policy advocacy in mitigating foodborne illnesses.
