Large Language Models: A practical Introduction for Computer Scientists

This slide deck contains an introduction to how LLMs work and how they can be used for tasks such as text, code and data generation. Readers will learn about how retrieval-augmented generation and function calling work. We learn how to program an agent that turns arxiv papers into simple powerpoint presentations.  Finaly some advice on good scientific practice is given.
