Description

The datafile contains data as used in the accompanying paper "Observations of tall-building wakes using a scanning Doppler lidar" by Natalie Theeuwes et al. The measurements were made as part of the MAGIC field campaign (Song et al., 2018, Building Research Information). Please see the paper for all details of analysis. As an overview, the datafile contains half-hour averages of:

  • Doppler Wind Lidar wind velocity components, wind direction, backscatter coefficient and boundary layer height data for vertical stare and 75 degree Velocity Azimuth Display scans
  • Doppler Wind Lidar spatially averaged wind speed and direction for horizontal Velocity Azimuth Display scans
  • sonic anemometer turbulence statistics (heat fluxes, Obukhov length, friction velocity, etc.) for two sites: 1) at 191 m on top of the BT Tower, and 2) at 36.5 m on a roof-top at London South Bank University
