Resonances of Stones: The International Project
Description
The presentation "Resonances of Stones: International Project" introduces a project that integrates music, architecture, and cultural narratives to create immersive artistic experiences within historical sites. Focusing on the Bazeos Tower in Naxos, the project aims to enhance recognition of this heritage site through immersive technologies, combining ambient sounds and musical performances with digital reconstructions. Conducted in three phases—fieldwork (2024), postproduction (2025), and VR experimentation (2026)—the project will result in a virtual version of the Bazeos Tower with diverse acoustic qualities, enabling multisensory experiences. Using 360-degree sound recordings, photogrammetry, and VR technologies, the initiative seeks to bridge past and present, making cultural heritage globally accessible. The expected outcomes include a publication, a virtual tour, and potential applications in education, exhibitions, and concerts, demonstrating new ways of experiencing and interpreting historical spaces.
