A cell type-specific expression atlas of small and total RNA in the heart after myocardial infarction
Creators
Description
This data corresponds to the processed files from the project on Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI). AMI stress has different effects on the heart cell types. microRNAs, the noncoding RNAs regulators play a critical role in shaping the transcriptomic profile of cells, which in turn modulates the functions. To understand the role of miRNAs, we performed matched small and total RNA sequencing on 4 cell types, viz. cardiomyocytes (CMs), endothelial cells (ECs), fibroblasts (FBs), and hematopoietic cells (HCs) of the murine heart. Four replicate samples were isolated from each cell type and sequenced for small and total RNAs at six timepoints: day 0, 1, 3, 7, 14, and 28; day 0 being the control. The sequence data is available in GEO: GSE252028.
In order to understand associations of miRNA processing factors, heterogeneity of miRNAs under stress and role of the miRNAs, we looked at the expression kinetics of the miRNA arms and reported genes in AMI. miRNA annotations from miRBase v21 and mouse genome was mm10.
