CODECS Knowledge Accelerator: Reducing women's inequalities in EU Agricultural Areas: the role of digitalisation. Highlights' report.

On October 22 2024, the European Association for Innovation in Local Development (AEIDL) hosted a CODECS webinar on Reducing women’s inequalities in EU Agricultural Areas, exactly one week after the International Day of Rural Women. The event brought together a diverse range of experts and stakeholders to discuss the critical role of gender in agriculture and rural areas, with a particular focus on how digitalisation can contribute to reducing inequalities.


The conversation featured insights from experts and innovators discussing challenges and opportunities related to gender equality in agriculture and the impact of digital tools. The webinar explored the current state of women in agricultural systems, highlighted the need for policy changes to support women’s participation in the sector, and examined strategies to ensure that technology is accessible and inclusive for women. The webinar showcased case studies of women-led innovations in agriculture and encouraged collaboration between stakeholders to create a more equitable and sustainable future.
