DEVELOPING A RUBRIC FOR COMPENSATORY COMPETENCE IN PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS
Creators
Description
This research introduces a tool for understanding compensatory competence in primary school students, focusing on their problem-solving, emotional regulation, and teamwork abilities. The tool covers three areas: cognitive, emotional, and social. It was tested in five classrooms, with teachers trained to use it and feedback gathered from both educators and students. The results showed that the tool effectively identified student strengths and areas needing growth, especially in persistence and collaboration. However, challenges like inconsistent use and time limits were noted. This study highlights the value of focusing on skills beyond academics to improve student growth and teaching strategies.
