Velocity-Enhanced Decoherence: A Criterion for the Quantum-to-Classical Transition
Authors/Creators
Description
This thesis introduces an enhanced model for the quantum-to-classical transition by incorporating particle velocity into the decoherence framework. Traditionally, this transition has been explained through environmental interactions that cause quantum systems to lose coherence and collapse into classical states. This research proposes that particle velocity significantly accelerates decoherence, leading to a more rapid transition to classical behavior. By integrating Einstein's relativistic energy equation, classical mechanics, the de Broglie wavelength, and environmental variables such as temperature and pressure, the model identifies a critical velocity threshold beyond which quantum effects become negligible, resulting in classical behavior. This theory is applied to cosmological phenomena, including the early universe's evolution, and experimental designs are proposed for empirical validation. The model’s predictions align with observed cosmological phenomena and suggest new experimental avenues for validating the theoretical framework. This refined approach offers new insights into the quantum-to-classical transition with implications for quantum computing and cryptography.
