Exploring Characteristic Velocity Scales for Quantum Interference.
Authors/Creators
Description
This article explores the concept of characteristic velocity scales relevant to the observation of quantum
coherence, particularly in interference phenomena. Motivated by the idea that dynamics influence
quantum behavior, we examine velocity scales derived from fundamental principles like the de Broglie
wavelength and the Heisenberg uncertainty principle. We propose a characteristic velocity, v_char ~
h/(mL), where m is the particle mass, h is Planck's constant, and L is a relevant length scale of the
quantum system (e.g., path separation or confinement length).
