FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF HERBAL FACE WASH FOR SKIN WHITENING
Description
The demand for herbal skincare products has increased due to their efficacy, safety, and minimal side effects compared to synthetic formulations. This study focuses on the formulation and evaluation of a herbal face wash for skin whitening, incorporating natural ingredients known for their skin-brightening properties. The face wash was developed using extracts of turmeric (Curcuma longa), aloe vera (Aloe barbadensis), licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra), lemon (Citrus limon), and neem (Azadirachta indica), combined with a suitable base.
The prepared formulation was subjected to physicochemical evaluations, including pH, viscosity, foaming ability, and spreadability tests, to ensure its stability and usability. The skin-whitening efficacy was assessed through in-vitro antioxidant activity, melanin inhibition studies, and user trials. Results indicated that the formulation exhibited good cleansing ability, maintained skin hydration, and significantly improved skin brightness upon regular use.
In conclusion, the developed herbal face wash provides an effective, natural alternative for skin brightening and maintenance, making it a promising addition to the herbal cosmetic industry. Further studies can explore long-term efficacy and dermatological safety for commercial application.
