Description
The paper includeS results related to the HERA project. Specifically, this preliminary study assessed the feasibility of replacing aeronautic aluminum panels (Al2024) with a composite material (T700 with graphene-doped epoxy). The most stringent requirements were related to impact resistance, as the composite material was intended for use in the cockpit area and on wing-to-fuselage interface shielding panels. The expected improvements were reduced overall weight, similar or better impact resistance, and the potential to optimize component design and sizing due to the composite production process. This work was conducted under both WP3 (fuselage/wing interface) and WP5 (design and sizing of configuration). This study will also continue in the HERFUSE project.
