Скарб монет зі Старого Подолу

Під час археологічних досліджень 2018 р. на київському Подолі в підвалі зруйнованого житлового флігеля ХІХ—ХХ ст. досліджено горизонти культурних нашарувань різних часів, зокрема давньоруського. Під час рятівних археологічних досліджень співробітники Архітектурно-археологічної експедиції Інституту археології НАН України виявили монетний скарб ХІХ — початку ХХ ст., який вдалося дослідити в початковому контексті. Скарб містив срібні монети, викарбувані в період з 1817 до 1915 р. Він є яскравим відображенням епохи та чудовою ілюстрацією грошового обігу другої половини ХІХ ст. Водночас скарб може бути джерелом додаткової інформації про побут жителів київського Подолу за індустріальної доби. Цій непересічній знахідці і присвячено публікацію.

During archaeological research in 2018 in Podil, Kyiv, in the basement of a destroyed residential wing of the 19th-20th centuries, horizons of cultural layers of different times, in particular the Old Rusj period, were investigated. During salvage archaeological research, employees of the Architectural and Archaeological Expedition of the Institute of Archaeology of the NAS of Ukraine discovered a coin hoard of the 19th-early 20th centuries, which was able to be studied in its original context. The hoard contained silver coins minted in the period from 1817 to 1915. It is a vivid reflection of the era and an excellent illustration of the monetary circulation of the second half of the 19th century. At the same time, the hoard can be a source of additional information about the life of the inhabitants of Podil, Kyiv during the industrial age. The publication is dedicated to this extraordinary find.
