Overall aim:
• To see nature as a subject and not as an object.
• To ask: how does the prophetic voice relate to the climate?
• focus on and celebrate joy in creation
• Connect thinking to action
Description:
- Pupils will think about and understand that nature as a subject (ie the thing doing something) and not as an object (having something done to it)
- Pupils will learn about the historical role of prophets and think about being prophetic in the modern world
- Pupils will think about joy ad where they find it, making connections to joy in the natural world
By the end of the unit: Pupils will have explored their local area, seeking beauty and joy. They will make links to spirituality. They will consider how nature needs our help and support and will start to imagine creative ways to make a different in their area. We will explore how pupils can speak truth to power at a local and national level.
Notes for Teachers:

- Use the questions on the PPT and lead the class in discussion and then the activities.
- A book and YouTube video are linked on the PPT. You will want to read and watch and plan how to lead children through this material in advance.
