Aspects of genetic diversity, host specificity, and public health significance of single-celled intestinal parasites commonly observed in humans and mostly referred to as 'non-pathogenic'
Description
This thesis provides insigt into the work that has gone into detecting and differentiating single-celled intestinal parasites of unknown clinical and public health significance.
There is a focus on genetic diversity and host specificity, which are parameters that can help us hypothesise on transmission patterns, virulence, phylogeography and other epidemiolgical features of these parasites.
