REAL TIME BLUETOOTH COMMUNICATION BETWEEN FPGA BASED EMBEDDED SYSTEM AND ANDROID PHONE

Description

Applications in areas such as telehealth and househ old security often require wireless communication b etween low-power embedded systems and personal smartphones . This paper presents the design and implementation of a project that exploits Bluetooth capabilities in sma rtphones running the Android Operating System to communicate wirelessly in real-time with an FPGA-ba sed embedded system. The use of FPGAs in such syste ms promises higher processing capabilities and lower p ower usage than traditional microprocessors, and ha s the added advantage of being reconfigurable for future developmen
