40 Years of Auerbach Research. A bibliography of secondary literature on Erich Auerbach's "Mimesis" since 1984
Description
This is a collection of secondary sources to Erich Auerbach's Mimesis (1946). Collective volumes and special issues are divided into separate entries, with the exception of Auerbach-Alphabet (2004) that is considered to be a mosaic of texts which have to be read together although they have different authors. Single-authored books that contain a chapter (or various chapters) on Auerbach are registered as a whole, considering the importance of context. Reviews of Mimesis are included, reviews of books that discuss Mimesis usually not, with the exception of Oushakine's (2023) review of Podoroga's attempt at redefining Mimesis. The bibliography was created on the occasion of an article for Acta fabula. Revue des parutions (ISSN 2115-8037) to be published in 2025 by the data collector. Existing bibliographies listed in it such as Berthezène (2009), Fabietti (2009), and Rivoletti (2014) helped in the collection. So did the Zotero and Zenodo advice by Maria Hinzmann (Trier Center for Digital Humanities).
