SWOT Mission Validation of Sea Surface Height Measurements at Sub-100 km Scales - Dataset

Description

Supporting datasets for a paper titled "SWOT sub-100 km science validation" submitted to Geophysical Research Letters. 

Dataset S1 (swot.mission.calval.seawater.density.zip):
This zip file contains two NetCDF files:

  1. density_all_moorings_level2_removed_outliers.nc: Seawater density anomaly data for all 11 moorings, calculated against a full-depth mean density profile.

  2. density_timemean.nc: The full-depth mean density profile derived from four S moorings over the three-month calibration and validation period.

Dataset S2 (swot.mission.calval.swot.level2.zip):
This zipped file contains two SWOT Low Rate (LR) Level-2 datasets with 2-km posting for Pass 13 and Pass 26, respectively. These passes intersect at the mission calibration and validation location in the California Current. Each file aggregates all cycles over the calibration and validation period.

Dataset S3 (NeurOST_SSH-SST_20230403_20240722_sub_lat-30-40.nc):
This file contains a subset of an SSHA snapshot from the NeurOST product (Martin et al., 2024), used to generate the background for Figure 1 in the paper.
