EVALUATION OF LAND USE LAND COVER CHANGE ON STREAM FLOW: A CASE STUDY OFDEDISSA SUB BASIN, ABAY BASIN, SOUTH WESTERN ETHIOPIA.
Authors/Creators
Description
Land use land cover change have an impact on hydrology of the watershed on the Dedissa sun basin. The study mainly focused on estimating land use change and stream flow under different land use land cover changes of the sub basin. L and use land cove map s of 1986 and 2010 were developed using satellite image through maximum likelihood algorithm of supervised classification using ERDA S Imagine 2014. A physical - based, semi - distributed hydrological model,SWAT was used to simulate LULC effects on the hydrological response of Didessa sub - basin.During the study period the land use land cover has changed due to population growth . The cultivated land increase d by 12% and while forestland decreased by 3.61%. The simulated Stream flow results were utilized to analyze seasonal variability stream flow due to land use and land cover changes
