Educação Museal e experienciações afro-amazônicas com audiovisuais do Museu Surrupira (Belém, Brasil

Description

Initially, the article addresses the conceptual foundations of the Virtual Museum Surrupira de Encantarias Amazônicas, an extension project of the Federal University of Pará. This project is developed using a museum experimentation methodology that aligns closely with the concepts of Social Museology and aims to advance knowledge in Theoretical Museology. The article then delves into aspects of Museum Education, which underpin its actions developed with visual contributions. Among these actions, the Meu Terreiro Meu Museu project stands out for its effort to understand the terreiros – sacred spaces of Afrodiasporic religions – as museum spaces. This project led to the production of two documentaries, which explored the Terreiro of Umbanda of Pai Pingo de Oxumaré and the house Asé Nago Igboalama e Osun. Another initiative is characterized by the workshops Writings and Visualities of the Imaginary and Mythopoetics of Cabocla Encantada Mariana, which resulted in a third documentary capturing the behind-the-scenes activities.
