Abstract

Digital technologies in orthodontics have totally changed the face of the discipline: they render treatments more precise, shorter, and more convenient for the patients. This review covers the main points of the digital workflow-3D imaging, CAD/CAM systems, and digital treatment planning-with respect to how these factors influence communication with the patients. It also points out some problems and future perspectives of this developing field.
