ThrombUS+ D4.1: Sensors and processing software for electrical impedance plethysmography DVT detection (2 sets)
Authors/Creators
Description
The aim of Deliverable 4.1 is to design, develop and fabricate 2 sets of sensors and processing software for electrical impedance plethysmography DVT detection. The deliverable will also include a report on the design and development of the sensors and software.
This deliverable is the output of Task 4.1. The aim of this task is to study and develop an optimized electrode setup for DVT assessment through electrical impedance plethysmography and to develop an embedded measurement system that can be integrated in the planned wearable. Electrode optimization is done by measuring plethysmography and multi-frequency spectroscopy data with various electrode setups together with simultaneous reference venous flow data obtained with ultrasound scanner. The suitable positioning of the sensors for measuring the impedance is to be realised and to be transferred to the wearable textiles. The embedded hardware is realized using analogue front-end circuit with digital signal processor with the purpose to facilitate integrating signal processing and DVT detection algorithms that are developed in T5.2. The device will be converted into a wearable version powered by internal power supply. The task will be led by TAU, experts in impedance plethysmography. MEDIS will participate contributing also expertise in innovation on impedance plethysmography. ComfTech will participate to ensure that the developed solution can be easily integrated in the wearable sock/legging.
