DE LA COMPLEXITÉ D'INCHALLAH : ÉTUDE DE L'UNICITÉ D'UN EMPRUNT POLYSÉMIQUE
Description
“Inshallah” is an Arabic loanword commonly used in French. Initially considered as a constant reminder of faith and submission to divine will for Muslim speakers, Arabic-speakers or non-Arabic speakers, “inshallah” has several semantical and pragmatical values. It can currently be pronounced in different contexts. This paper aims to identify the phonetic, morpho-syntactic and lexicographical status of this item, point out its different semantical values in the Quranic text and finally, report the extension of these values to see if its usage matches or not its original meaning. This article could be, in our point of view, a step toward studying other Arabic Quranic expressions that have entered in the common usage.
