Description

This Zenodo release pertains to the GitHub tag that contains the GMU development updates for inclusion of forest canopy shading and turbulent diffusivity effects in CMAQ version 5.3.1.   Publication for ACP is in preparation and will be updated here once published.

This tag also contains updates for inclusion of FRP-based fire smoke plume rise schemes based on Li et al. (2022): https://doi.org/10.5194/egusphere-2022-713

This release also contains monthly input NetCDF files containing necessary canopy data inputs for the CMAQ canopy code.  These "NACC Geofiles" can be processed and added to CMAQ-ready input files (i.e., added to METCRO2D files) for any regional domain using the NACCv2+ software:  https://github.com/noaa-oar-arl/NACC.   See upcoming ACP paper for more details on this canopy data.
