Description
Description:
These Reference grids are derived from a vector dataset. The reference grids cover the whole terrestrial territory of Latvia and are consistent with each other, meaning that for example five 100 m gridded cells match a 500m grid cell in width. Layers contain only presence (administrative territory) cells, that are coded with 1. Due to rasterisation procedure, layer of 10m resolution contain celss which centroids are in the vector layer, whereas other resolutions have all the cells that toucher the vector polygon.
Filestructure:
LV{resolution}_{extension of bounding box}
- resolution is either "10m", "100m" or "500m", representing resolutions of input data, analysis and some of preprocessing steps.
- extensions of bounding box is 10 km around the official administrative borders to ensure necessary space in processing.
File format:
The layers are gridded geoTiff files and can be loaded in any conventional Graphical Information System or analytical programming languages (e.g. R or python).
Geographic projection:
We use the LKS-92 / Latvia TM by default for all layers in HiQBioDiv.
Sourcecode:
The code to reproduce the layers is available at projects Github repository.
