East Africa's Layering Imaged with CRISP-RF
Description
We present a dataset of Ps receiver functions for the East African Region. The compilation regroups all high-quality images of crustal and upper mantle discontinuities, resolved using the CRISP-RF denoising approach at 1 Hz. The current release is organized in a table of 17 columns, with the following headers:
1-8) Network, Stations, Latitude, Longitude, Elevation, Sitename, StartTime, EndTime
9-11) Waveformkept, Raw_RF_Moho, Raw_RF_UMD: These columns contain the number of waveforms used in the receiver function stacks (9), the stack ET-MTC (Extended Time Multi Taper Correlation) receiver function focused on the time interval 2 to 27 seconds after the direct P signal (10), the stack ET-MTC receiver function focused on the time interval 6 to 31 seconds after the direct P signal (11). The first interval includes the converted signal from the Moho discontinuity, while the second only focuses on the upper mantle (depth < 310 km). Each receiver function is 25 seconds long, with 1001 sampled points.
12-13) Fista_RF_moho, Fista_RF_UMD: These columns show the filtered receiver function respectively focused on the time interval described above.
14-17) indices_Moho_pick, Moho_depths, indices_N_pick, and NVG_depths: Columns 14 and 16 show the indices of the Moho and the Negative Velocity Discontinuity, whose depths (in kilometers) are respectively shown in columns 15 and 17. These depths were converted from time using the AFR2022 shear wave velocities model, available on IRIS-EMC.
