Interoception workbook: Participant aid to visualisation
Description
A workbook used with workshop participants to help them in the visualisation of interoceptual feelings. A book of drawings made by the artist Garry Barker in response to conversations with various people about their interoceptual awareness of somatic feelings. Because many people have never had to visualise these things before, the book is used as a starter or primer to help people get started. It is also a repository of images made earlier on during the first year of the research project and it can be used as a measure, as to how imagery develops over time. In this case many of the first representations were anthropomorphic and this has changed as participants have become more aware of more abstract possibilities.
