Teaching FAIR with the PATTERN training materials; A train-the-trainer workshop

The European funded PATTERN project, https://www.pattern-openresearch.eu, is developing and piloting training activities for researchers to promote the practice of Open and Responsible Research and Innovation (Open RRI). DANS is creating a set of training materials on the topic of ‘FAIR Research Data Management (RDM)’. The materials span beginner and intermediate level and focus on topics including: an introduction to the FAIR Principles; What is a DMP and how do you create one?; file formats for sharing and reuse; and intellectual property, copyright and licensing.

Trainers can easily adapt these open materials to match their own institutional settings, policies and preferences. They can use the materials in live, in-person training, but also in online classes: they include slide decks, exercises and opportunities for group interaction. For participants, who cannot attend live sessions, the consortium will also provide e-learning modules.

In this contribution, we showcase the training materials, provide participants with an instruction and invitation to adapt and reuse them for their own purposes.
