ХУДОЖНЯ ОСВІТА В УКРАЇНІ (ДРУГА ПОЛОВИНА ХІХ – ПОЧАТОК ХХ СТОЛІТТЯ): ІСТОРІОГРАФІЯ ДОСЛІДЖЕННЯ

The article reveals the issue of historiography of the development of artistic education in Ukraine in the second half of the XIX^th – the beginning of the XX^th century. The purpose of the article is to analyze the history and chronology of the development of artistic education in Ukraine during the period under study. It has been proved that the problem was reflected in the historical and pedagogical science. The article focuses both on the general problems of the formation and development of artistic educational institutions on the territory of Ukraine and regional peculiarities of their development. The author proposed scientific sources on the research problem to be divided into such subgroups: the works on the history of public education, the study of which had helped to understand the general historical background of the formation and development of artistic education in Ukraine (the second half of the XIX^th – the beginning of the XX^th century); the scientific works representing classical pedagogical theories, in which the essence of scientific approaches to the problem of the vocational training of artists during the investigated period had been described; the works on the theory and practice of vocational and artistic education, which had summarized the experience of training professional staff of various qualifications and areas of knowledge; the scientific works that had included the analysis of the history of the socio-economic development of the Russian Empire in general, Soviet Ukraine, in particular, namely, the development of entrepreneurship, industry, agriculture; the works on the history of vocational education, the structural component of which was the artistic education of the second half of the XIX^th – the beginning of the XX^th century; scientific works on the history of the development of artistic handworks. The author has noted that the scientific sources analyzed in the process of studying the problem provide the sufficient statistical and factual material for making objective findings about the formation and development of artistic education in Ukraine in the second half of the XIX^th – the beginning of the XX^th century.
