Formation of Fast-spinning Neutron Stars in Close Binaries and Magnetar-driven Stripped-envelope Supernovae

Description

MESA inlists, input files, associated data and population synthesis data for the paper "Formation of Fast-spinning Neutron Stars in Close Binaries and Magnetar-driven Stripped-envelope Supernovae". MESA version 15140 and mesasdk-x86_64-linux-21.4.1.tar.gz were used.

For detailed instructions on installing and using MESA, please refer to the official documentation at MESA Documentation. On a typical desktop computer (16GB RAM, Intel i7), the installation process takes approximately 30 minutes. Once installed, navigate to the star module, where you can run the provided test cases to simulate stellar evolution. You can modify the initial conditions in the inlist files to simulate stars with different masses or compositions. MESA outputs a series of log files containing the star's evolution details, such as luminosity, radius, temperature, and mass-loss rates, at various time steps. A basic test run, simulating the evolution of a solar-mass star from pre-main sequence to white dwarf on a standard desktop, typically takes about 1 hour.

Users can use the provided inlist files and input configurations to simulate binary systems with helium (He) stars. These files allow customization of parameters, such as orbital period and companion mass.
