Description

Clavicle is a modified long bone. Its morphology is important in determining upper limb locomotion behavior. The morphometric parameters of this bone vary between left and right side and also between races and sex. It is a commonly fractured bone. Improved benefits derived from use of fixatives have resulted in renewed interest in interventional procedures in clavicle fracture. The knowledge of variation in curvatures and other parameters is indispensable for designing the intramedullary and external fixatives.

Abstract (English)

Clavicle is a modified long bone. Its morphology is important in determining upper limb locomotion behavior. The morphometric parameters of this bone vary between left and right side and also between races and sex. It is a commonly fractured bone. Improved benefits derived from use of fixatives have resulted in renewed interest in interventional procedures in clavicle fracture. The knowledge of variation in curvatures and other parameters is indispensable for designing the intramedullary and external fixatives.
